Lovely Day
I’m sitting here in the morning sun,
watching a sparrow fly by,
and it looks like this chap is having fun -
it’s easy to see why!
Playing with drops of the morning dew
dripping from the flower cups,
splashing and sploshing and wetting his feathers,
puffing and fluttering up.
The hardness of this world seems a hundred miles away,
the noisy people, the noisy cars are as far away as Mars…
It’s a lovely day, it’s lovely day, it’s a lovely - a lovely day,
It’s a lovely day, it’s lovely day, it’s a lovely - a lovely day.
The bees are buzzing, the crickets chirping,
spider webs shining bright
like magic crystals thrown in that broom shrub,
their moisture refracting the light
And those flowers in that meadow,
they are really showing off,
like being dressed for best
with the brightest colours you can think of,
And the hardness of this world seems a thousand miles away,
the noisy people, the noisy cars are as far away as the stars...
It’s a lovely day, it’s lovely day, it’s a lovely - a lovely day,
It’s a lovely day, it’s lovely day, it’s a lovely - a lovely day.
